By the end of March, businesses, municipalities, and students using secondary raw materials are left to participate in the competition and submit their ideas.
"I was terribly shocked at how many things lie down on our soil. So for the little cousins I created a swing from broken beans. Most of the beans used are broken only by the front part, most likely by a sharp impact. But the seat can serve further. Brake brakes I used as a handle when swinging and fastened them firmly with a screw. I put the beans in a solid frame made of larch wood, " describes the submitted project Kateřina Kvapilová, a graphic artist and future teacher from Hradec Králové. Swings would like to see on playgrounds in kindergartens or elementary schools or in parks.
Another breakthrough project is active rubber dust. "We can grind granulate from discarded tires and other rubber waste into a micronized form that is re-used, perhaps again in the car industry for carpets, gaskets or partly new tires. The raw material we create is vulcanizable, which is very important in rubber industry, " says George Karra'a of LAVARIS.
The purpose of the Conversion of Waste to Resources competition is to encourage companies, municipalities and students to think creatively about how to reuse the used materials and nonfunctional products. Tens of subjects have entered the competition, the closing date for applications is 31 March 2018. The winners will be awarded in June at the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Prizes are awaiting prizes such as training courses, expert advice on waste management, droning, or for winning college students, such as a study trip to Ethiopia focusing on waste management.
