"We were pleased with the high attendance, as well as the victory in the Olympic home in the Boston Globe chart. I believe that all foreign visitors have taken a good impression of the Czech Republic. But especially the Czech House and its team contributed to the good of our Olympic team, because here every night the bread and other pastries that the athletes had available at the Olympic Village in the morning were baked every night, " said Jiří Kejval, Chairman of the Czech Olympic Committee.
The team of bakers baked about two thousand loaves of bread during the running of the Czech House, three hundred of them especially for the Slovak House. On the bread, visitors wiped half a ton of different spreads and continuously selected from fifteen kinds of soups. They also tasted pretzels and sticks, rolls, cakes, sauces or cakes. Athletes also had gluten-free products in the Olympic villages every day, hockey players were popular as a maker. "Visitors welcomed food from Korea's highly popular chef Mikhail Ashminov, who prepared his team for example goulash or sausages from fresh minced meat," said Blanka Konečná, manager of the Czech House.
Victory with Americans, interest all over the world
The barracks consisted of almost 32 thousand Pilsner Urquell beers, visitors also became acquainted with the brewery through virtual reality. They could admire the beauty of the Czech Republic in the picture decoration from Czech Tourism and its history in the virtual experience on the sleigh.
During the Olympics in the Czech House directly opposite the Kangnung Olympic Village, curling medallists, American ice hockey players, figure skating champions, Slovak ice hockey players and representatives from many other countries came to visit. Their medals were celebrated by fans of snowboarding Eva Samkova, speed skater Martina Sáblíková and Karolina Erbanová and biathlete Veronika Vítková.
"We welcomed a number of foreigners, many Korean visitors and almost all Czech athletes. We wished thirty thousand visitors to go through the house, and that made it. We tried to make sure there were also Czech athletes. I would like to thank the whole team and the volunteers, " added Blanka Konečná.
The opening ceremony of the Czech House was attended by the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Milan Štěch, and the Slovak President Andrej Kiska. The Czech team celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of Grenoble 1968, where ski jumper Jiri Raška won the first gold of the Winter Olympics. The twentieth anniversary of Nagano's "Tournament of the Century" at the "Tournament of the Century" in the presence of the then winners Jaroslav Špaček and Milan Hnilička reminded the pre-release of the documentary "The Nagano Tapes" , which will see the audience on ČT Sport on 29 March.
In addition to winning the Boston Globe Award, the Czech House received attention in a number of foreign media. Canadian TV CBC has prepared a live coverage and a studio, several Korean TV stations, bein sports, the Olympic Channel, the Olympic Broadcasting System, and reporters of Time and Sports Illustrated, Reuters and AP, and ZDF.
