The film, based on the famous novel by British writer Simon Maver , inspired by the dramatic events of the 20th century and the birth of the iconic architectural jewel - the Brno villa Tugendhat, is directed by Julius Sevcik , creator of the 12 Czech Lions award winning drama Masaryk.
The glass room originates in the production of the IN Film Company Rudolf Biermann, the producer of the successful films of the Participants of the Tour, I Served the King of England, the Manuscript for Men or Masaryk. Co-productions include Czech Television, Investito Igora Rattaje, and Slovak Television TV JOJ.
The picture is also supported by the city of Brno. The deputies approved a subsidy of CZK 4.3 million for him.

In the opportunity to film the Glass Room not only in the Tugendhat villa environment, but also in other locations, I see a huge potential for promotion. The upcoming film will enhance the renown of the villa as well as the city itself, " said Mayor of the Statutory City of Brno Petr Vokřál.
"We appreciate the support of the city of Brno and the opportunity to spin in the unique interiors of Villa Tugendhat, and we believe that the film will help attract more attention to this work," says producer Rudolf Biermann.
The novel by British writer Simon Maver Glass Room has become a world bestseller, has been translated into dozens of languages, and has been nominated for the prestigious literary award The Man Booker Prize.
The film on the motives of this book tells of people whose lives, love and friendship marked the dramatic events of the 20th century. The fate of Liesel and Viktor Landauer, their friends, employees, and the extraordinary architect Von Abt framed the emergence of one of the most original modernist buildings in Europe, places of great love flares and life treasures.
The premiere of the film Glass Room is scheduled for Spring 2019.
