The total number of abortions in the Czech Republic since 2008 has been steadily declining, but the number of miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies increases.
According to experts, this negative trend is mainly related to increasing age of mothers, which is confirmed by statistics. Almost a third of all miscarriages were recorded in women over 35 years old. 8 week then held nearly 72% of all abortions. In the case of miscarriages, which the body automatically expels the fetus from the uterus, are at greatest risk in the first trimester, until the 13th week of pregnancy. What could be the cause?
The reason? Poor quality sperm, often older fathers
Although the men said that in conceiving a child is significant only maternal age, the father could easily have seven crosses on the neck, it's not entirely true. For example, a study by French scientists in 2008 that is dedicated to Human Reproduction and Embryology, may have greater difficulty with fertility men already over 40 years. According to the aforementioned study, the risk of miscarriage among men under 30 years is about 10 to 15%, while for men over 40 years has been about 35%. Among the lesser-known causes of miscarriage thus ranks poor quality sperm that age is closely related to man. "The issue of male fertility and sperm quality is currently still pertinent. Quality problems have now had about 40 percent of the world's male population, with age problems then usually still escalating, "says Peter Gall from the company VEGALL Pharma, which helps men with sperm quality naturally.
"The least thing for himself and his partner, men can do is to draw attention to their own lifestyle, which in many cases is the alpha and omega of success. I recommend limiting consumption of red meat and sausages, of course, then also drinking alcohol or smoking. Conversely, if a man should guard against increased intake of fruit, vegetables or cereals. Essential is then also receiving selenium and zinc, which contributes to normal sperm production. It is crucial for fertility, "says Peter Galle.
The reason? Down syndrome, more commonly in older mothers
Besides the age of the father is, of course, also essential maternal age, which is a well known fact. Although maternal age increases, the female body could not be talked into a desire for self-realization, career or traveling. And so in exchange for a successful business or fun nightlife often disappointment from the inability to conceive or of recurring miscarriages. Older women over 35 years, according to statistics ÚZIS in 2013 to one-third the risk of spontaneous abortion. For nearly 57% of women in this age group were then performed an abortion for health reasons. "One of the major abuses higher maternal age is also a higher risk of birth defects such as Down syndrome. Although it is a chromosomal disorder that can affect almost anyone, in older women, unfortunately, more often. And because older mothers in the Czech Republic more, where is Down syndrome diagnosed simply increasing, "commented that renowned sexologist and gynecologist MD. Paul Turčan ". In case that confirm the presence of Down's syndrome, are nowadays most parents opt for abortion. On this decision, parents have the time to the 24th week of pregnancy, it has artificial interruption of pregnancy is not possible, "he adds Turčan. Genetic abnormalities are generally the most common cause of miscarriage.
The reason? Construction of the uterus
According to experts only occurs in 10% of cases of fetal loss due to anatomical deformities of the uterus. May act on its shape, on any partitions that matters in the womb, deformed cervical adhesions, or perhaps the presence of benign tumors, called fibroids. The good news for mothers is that these problems can usually solve operatively, either by laparoscopy, hysteroscopy or classical incision on the anterior abdominal wall. Some types of fibroids experts today are able to remove even without surgery, using drugs. Spontaneous abortion may then also cause inflammation of the uterus or cervix incompetence, which is input into the uterus partly open. Usually this disorder as a result of previous abortions, complicated deliveries or even after gynecological procedures.
