German Language Film Festival Das Filmfest is celebrating its 10th birthday and prepared for film fans a little gift - Summer cinema or Das Sommerkino. In several popular open-air cinemas in Prague will be able to visitors during the summer months to recall the eleven most interesting and the most successful films of the last nine editions.
Summer show Das Sommerkino starts already projection feature documentary This Is not California. Film by Marten Persiela of antisocial youth revolt in socialist East Germany, and especially of the then almost forbidden sport of skateboarding can be projected anywhere else than one of the best skejtových spots in Central Europe, Letna "Stalin".
In subsequent weeks, movie buffs can look forward to Jerichow Christian Petzold, Soul Kitchen Fatih Akin and award-winning comedy The Accidental Austrian Elfriede Ott kidnapping.
All films will be shown in original language with English and Czech subtitles, performances always start at 22:00. Admission to all events is free.
The parade traditionally co-organized by the Goethe-Institut, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Prague and the Swiss Embassy in Prague.
10th Annual show of the best of the current German, Austrian and Swiss cinema Das Filmfest traditionally held in the fall. In Prague cinemas will be German sounding October 21 to 25, after the festival moved to Pilsen, where will remain 26 to 28 October and from 29 October to 1 November festival closes its tenth year in Brno.
