"If you are flying with a dron just for fun, only the first two weight categories will apply to you. Machines heavier than 910 grams must be equipped with a fireproof identification plate with your name and telephone number. In addition, they must be equipped with a safety, so-called fail-safe system, which, in the event of a fault or loss of the driver's signal, ensures automatic landing of the drones, " explains Hana Hoffmann, editor-in-chief of consumer magazine dTest. During the flight, you have to keep your dron constantly. As direct surveillance, visual contact without telescope or other optical technique is envisaged.
Where can you fly a dron? Uncontrolled airspace class G , ie where no restrictions apply eg due to a nearby airport, up to a height of 300 meters above the ground . However, at smaller altitudes of 150-300 meters, it is therefore possible to fly a droned plane up to 150 meters above the ground . You must always fly outside the clouds. You should keep a distance of at least 5.5km from the airport. You can only zoom in to the airport area if you fly the lowest weight category drones, but you can only fly up to 100m. You can study the specific deployment of prohibited zones on air maps or in AisView, which can be found on the Air Traffic Control website.
When piloting a dron, you must also keep distance from people, buildings or dense settlements. These include parcels with family or apartment buildings, shopping areas, parks or parking lots. "Similarly, it is forbidden to fly over people at public events such as concerts or sports. The only exception is the situation where the professional pilot directly talks with the participants of the event, " says Hana Hoffmannová, adding: " The ban also applies in the so-called protection zones , ie along roads, utility networks, water resources or objects of state defense. Also in the vicinity of some popular tourist destinations, such as Prague Castle, as well as dangerous sites such as nuclear power plants or chemical plants. Last year, there is a lot of discussion about the theme of flying with the drones in national parks. A recently adopted amendment to the Nature and Landscape Protection Act has given the competence to decide on the possibility of flying to the territory of national parks in the hands of the Civil Aviation Authority. Unmanned airplanes, such as drones, are subject to a special regime, and the law prohibits them completely from flying to national parks .
If you use dron to shoot videos, pictures or audio, the Privacy Act also enters the game. You may take footage of others only with their consent, or in the case of protecting your rights, such as protecting property from thieves. You should never take pictures of purely private activities and shots that reduce the human dignity of the people filmed.
You can not use Dron without a license for commercial purposes. If you want to fly professionally with your drones, that is to say for earnings, research purposes or experimental use, you must apply for a permit to fly without a pilot on board, complete practical and theoretical examinations and register yourself and your dron in the appropriate records .
