In the third quarter of this year, CTIs carried out 16 demonstration audits, and only 2 of them found the violation, which is historically the smallest. Over the same period, 46 inspections of vendors were carried out during the same period and found violations of the laws in 30 of them. In the third quarter of 2017, 12 fines amounted to nearly 4 million crowns.
The Czech Trade Inspection carried out a total of 16 inspections during the period from July 1 to September 30, 2017, in which it monitored the conditions of the offer and sale of products and services in the context of demonstration sales events. In addition to detecting the use of unfair business practices, including aggressive practices, increased attention has been paid to the compliance with the notification obligation imposed by the Amendment to the Consumer Protection Act since January 2014. Out of the total number of 16 inspections carried out, a breach of legislation was detected in 2 inspections (12.5%).
The consumer report shows that the shamans are moving to the Internet. There is also an increase in complaints about the offer of goods by telephone.
Saved penalties
During the demonstration event, a total of 12 fines totaling CZK 3,925,000 took effect from July 1 to September 30, 2017. The highest total fine of 1,650,000 was imposed on BNM-MEDICAL CZECH SE. The second highest fine of CZK 750,000 for ARROCHAR sro, a third total fine of CZK 600,000 for TRI SOLAR sro Most of these companies have breached the obligation to notify the event and the prohibition of accepting the financial amount for the goods before the expiration of 7 days from the conclusion of the contract. In these cases , the financial amount for the product was taken directly to the demonstration event, which is forbidden by the law .
