Children's diets, "rychlorestaurace" may, under fives and for diabetes

Fast-food companies know how to operate on children. Colored packaging and enticing advertising are definitely more interesting than boring snacks or a meal in the school cafeteria. Consequently, not only is a growing problem of overweight children, but also a lack of energy, depression, and a number of chronic diseases in adulthood.

The main problem is a fast food administering small, but more high energy portions. Children and eat more calories than their bodies can handle consume. In addition, each menu includes a sweet drink, and in some cases even bottomless, so swallowed small bites diners a hearty servings of sugar. If so children eat regularly, a problem not be long in coming.

Nearly a third of lunch is "fast"

University of Chicago conducted a study that compared the calories children eating in restaurants and fast food restaurants to those who eat at home. Individuals who prefer the first method were significantly higher energy intake than the rest of the respondents. Not surprising, however, an interesting finding was that the number of children who go to fast food three or more times a week, is still growing.
For boys of five years (1999-2004) was an increase from 24 to 30%.
Among girls was an increase from 19 to 27%.

Despite the constant efforts ahead of fast food companies to warn them regularly consumes almost a third of all children. The study was conducted in the United States, but the trend is similar in Europe.

Many calorie, low nutritional value

Meal of fast food is not just calories. The big disadvantage is its low nutritional value. It is poor in vitamins and fiber, while French fries and burgers are full of saturated fat, sugars and salt. How it all works to the children?
Impaired concentration and fatigue. According to the Association of Women's Health and Children (Women's and Children's Health Network), the song has a significant impact on food concentration and academic performance. Energy children accustomed to frequent and excessive sugar intake is rapidly exhausted, and are unable to sustain attention for longer. The problem may be with the long-term physical activity.
Chronic diseases in adulthood. Excessive amounts of saturated fat, sugars and salt in childhood increases the risk of diabetes, hypertension and heart attacks even at a young age. While diabetes can lead to disorders of mobility and premature death. Obese children also have more problems with high cholesterol and heart disease in adulthood.
Asthma and eczema. Doctors of New Zealand in their study investigated the effect of different kinds of food allergies, asthma and eczema in children. While regular consumption of fruits potentially reduce the risk of seizures, a fast food meal eaten at least three times a week has increased not only the number of asthma attacks, but also the severity of eczema and allergic rhinitis.

Fast food restaurants are thus not for children or for adults adequate alternative home prepared food. Although sometimes we have no choice, we should confine their visits to a minimum. Especially important in this case is an example of the parents. Descendants of the fact they will one day imitate more than they expected.
